Reflections

As i browsed through my FB photos albums, there is a immense and deep gratitude dancing in my heart now - that God have given me wonderful friends in my life. Through the seasons - in bottom of the valleys, on the mountain tops, running with me through the race or just walking quietly alongside with me, there are friends whom I can count on. My prayer is that God will continue to use me to be a channel of blessings to the people around me whom in turn bless me so much.

A meaningful personal connections - LOVE

Blessings of the Day: Feeling Spiritually Refreshed Renewed

It had been such a long time since I was touched and healed by the Holy Spirit. The feeling was amazing. I shalln't focus on my personal problems but how God had led me through in this amazing time of healing.

On last Sunday during church, there were announcements on the Wholistic Christian Counselling Conference in Asia 2008 which will be at Faith Methodist Church for 3 nights. I didn't really take note but one particularly caught my attention - Experiencing God Through Times of Change. I thought that was interesting but it was abit of travelling distance from North to West and plus I did not know any of the speakers.

On Monday afternoon, Ray messaged and told us to go for the 2nd night which was the one i mentioned earlier. But on Tuesday I was heading to JB and I wasn't too sure I was be able to be back on time. So finally I decided to give a miss. I felt a pinch of sadness when the girls messaged that night me how wonderful the speaker was that night sharing on the topic.

Weiggy first messaged me to attend the last night of WCCC. She was raving this is her new idol saying this speaker was term as the Love Doctor in Asia. Next Mandy again messaged me and told me to go for the last night which titled - Journey to Intimacy. Seriously I wasn't too interested to go. So when Mandy expressed her desire to attend the conference instead of HQ event. I told her I don't mind going cos I think Kovan was nearer. Who knows, Jem messaged said she needed to take care of her mom and she will be skipping the seminar and go for the HQ event and would be easier when she returned home. Finally a few more exchanges of sms - I was thrown at this question - "PY are you coming anot?"

Me ? - No reply. Went to sleep

Next day, in the morning 9am+, I got another message from Mandy again - "Hope you can come tonight. Its at commonwealth. Its refreshing .."

Me ? - Woke up and go to work. (yes i wake up at 9am+ and work at 9am+)

After lunch time - "Py, u not coming tonight ar?"

Ok i Finally replied - "Coming Coming Coming Coming :)"

That evening when I reached, I was greeted by the beautiful worship led by Convenant EFC. The worship was led by their Pastor Fabian. The prayers and the words of the songs ministered deep down in my heart. It was a wonderful time of assurance from God. I hadn't felt like this for a very long time. Deep in my heart, every word just answers all doubts and questions.

Next Dr Huang was introduced as the speaker for the evening. He came across as a very humble man and a hidden humour. For the next 2.5 hours, I was paying full 100% attention and writing furiously the notes into my phone. The congregation was fully engaged by his teachings. I certainly have a fruitful time. It is more than just learning men are from mars and women are from venus. It is the art of the love language that most of us couples or even singles fail to grasp it properly. Getting into paradox fightings were meaningless.

When I returned home that night, I still looked at my phone notes. I slowly realized that I hadn't been supporting him well enough. I called him up and apologized for the nonsences that He had to face from me. I too recognize the efforts that he had been trying to put in to pay his attention for me. It hadn't been an easy time for us either. It was so much and too overwhealming many unexpected events had happened and we constantly snapped at each other non stop. That night, we talked for 2 hours sharing and talking what I had learn from Dr Huang's seminar. It was a certainly a time of healing not only for myself and for him as well.

It was really a blessing to be able to listen what Dr Huang had taught us. So ... Thanks Weiggy and Mandy for asking me to go :)

25

Blessings of the Day: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. - Psalm 139:14
I turned 25. Ironically I am not too excited about this. I have to admit that the thought of more loads of responsibilities are falling unto me is beginning to load me abit down. Sometime the more wisdom I asked God to grant me, the more things I discovered that I need to change to become a better child of God. I kind of felt there is unseen pressure on me. As each passing day and moment, I finally understood that is how God is close to me now. I can hear His still small voice. During my days as a younger christian, I often asked, why doesn't God speak to us like how He spoke to Abraham, Moses, King David, King Saul, King Solomon directly. Jesus talking to the apostle Paul, John, Peter and many more. He spoke to these godly people directly face to face. Giving instructions. I often lament if only God would do that, the difficulties in my life will be reduced drastically. I don't have to walk the wrong path.

Colossians 1:9 - 14

9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

But however I am so wrong. Even with instructions given, men still makes mistakes. I often wonder why are these people so funny, ABC instructions lay before you, you still do the wrong things. Seriously, I wondered why. Since the JAP accountability group started 2 years back, part of our structure accountability is to do QT 3 times a week. With the book I read 3 years ago, I applied the mecury QT timechart in it to help Weiggy and Jem and myself too. By God's grace, I was able to spend at least 10 mins each day to read His word. By God's grace, my fellow sisters were making remarkable results too. Seeing one another desire to read God's word earnstly and faithfully and often we said "We strive to be an A star student next month" just help me to see that all of us desired to be the faithful child of God. As I deepened my relationship with God, there are many things opened before me. I felt very very stressful actually because it often shed light on our sinful nature and I just felt it was too hard to go on. Funny I was even blaming God - "Why on earth You show me this?!" The more i read the more despressed I get. At a point of time I just felt everything was meaningless. MEANINGLESS

If you asked me how did I ever overcome all this depressing emotions, I learned to pray. I am still not perfect even now. But at least somehow in the midst of all these prayers, I know God is talking to me heart to heart talk. Just like how He talked to the Abraham. Moses. King David. I felt scared and assured at the same time. I know I need Him even more in all these transitions in my life that is going on non stop behind me. I got to learn and trust in Him to ask him to guide me.

1 Timothy 4
Instructions to Timothy

1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. 6If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. 11Command and teach these things. 12Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

25 years old. This seem to be a magical number beside 21 years old. It just striked me that I am in my mid-twenties. Will I grow and aged gracefully and maturely and lead a life that is God will be proud of? How many more years do I have now? How many sets of 25 can I go through? At least 2? What will happen in the next 25 years? What will happen in the next 50 years? No one can answer that question except God, I suppose :)

Never expect my 25 is quite an emotional one and filled with much anxiety and thoughts. In a positive direction I prayed, that my next 25 years to come, is a life that is pleasing to God.

Wondering - will i still be blogging at age 50? That will be an achievement then. :P
Blessed Birthday to Me :)

Updates

Blessings of the day: I am so happy to hear Daren has arrived :) Welcome Daren :) Can't wait to carry you when i see you at the end of the year!

Quick Update:

Studies
1. Started a new 12 week course last week. I had to confess I've yet to read through my notes. How brave of me when 2 weeks from now I will have to submit my first assignment.

2. I've counted there are about 34 days left to my exam. So *exciting* 9 Chapters to go...

3. Next week Friday, practical test on video editing, audio recording, lighting setup and camera setup. My biggest fear? Lighting Setup and Camera Setup...

4. The next 3 weeks is going to be exciting again... We had confirmed our theme and now rushing on our script so that we can get the approval for our video shoot. I prayed that the video shoot will be as smooth as possible. Good weather please. That's very important. We are heading to Mohamad Sultan, Clark Quay, Little Indian and Harbour Front to recee and do our video shoot. ALL IN ONE DAY. Good weather please please... as for the documentary we are doing... shhh... not telling yet.. But the title will be *B&W* you can figure out that ;)

5. More and more assignments and reading up need to do ... sigh I hope I can manage it well.

6. uniSIM and NUS have a joint program and I am offered to take up to 10 credits at NUS to replace my uniSIM modules. The good news is I graduate by Dec 2008 *yippee* the bad news is more $$$ to be spent. *Thanks mom, without you, I don't think I can make it. I will make sure i earn triple the amount and bring you out for holiday soon * Well, I will see how God leads me. Not sure if taking up the course in NUS is a good thing. NTU courses are offered to me as well. Which means I CANNOT WORK next year for the first 6 months if i really decided to do 10 more credits in NTU. Because that would be like taking up to 6 modules in the whole semester. But if i were to take up a total of 40 credits in 2008 1st Semester it would mean i only have to do 1 module (10 credits) in 2008 2nd Semester... hmmm perhaps is not a wise choice.. i shall spread out my 50 credit units evenly... 25 each semester then.... oh God - please grant me the wisdom to make the right decision again!!!

Work

1. Aiming to complete 2 projects before this month so that I can take time off for study and to do catching up.

2. Hope to close 3 project biddings... i know that sound ambitious...

3. Our current prayer for our business is that our work that can contribute to the Lord by becoming the channel of blessings for the community.

Ministry

1. Year end camp Nov 23 to 25... exciting also ..... This year I've got an excellent camp committee members. May the Lord bless me with wisdom so that I can guide the team well. Praise Him :)

Japalang

1. Using the word *Jialut* is not very nice especially these are all good news. Ok *Praise God* In the next 5 months, I will have 5 wedding bombs starting from this month and last all the way till Feb 2008. But on the highlight, the 4th wedding will be in Indonesia, Surabaya where my secondary good friend is getting married. I am excited because I've never attended an overseas wedding dinner. Ok suaku i know but I am STILL excited plus she is the first girl among our secondary school clique to get married! Wonder who is next...

2. 2008 is year where i heard alot of wedding bombing away... I've come to the age where my friends are getting married and getting pregnant with lots of kids... To tell you the truth, I am quite overwhealmed... haha

3. I am so SAD! Every year!!! I always miss the Canon Digital Photography Marathon :( Every year i missed it! First time - Evince. Second Time? - Anew ... Third Time? ZHSS Open House! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh *scream*

4. I would like to conclude I totally cannot make it for my advanced theory test. I am too ashamed to tell pple how many X times I had retake the test. Ok be fair to myself, I didn't put in effort to study *sigh*

5. I also would like to conclude I can now work on my left direction and right direction. *haha*

6. I like to conclude one more thing.. i am a dangerous driver... and i can conclude for sure i am not going to pass my driving test on my first attempt... *more stories next time * If i do pass on my first attempt by God's grace, I'll suggest you shall wear a helmet when you sit in my car the next time.

7. I like to speed... *woot*

Keegan

In all situations, let's continue to look to God in prayer. Because He knows our thoughts. Trust in Him because our God know us the best than anyone else.

Friendship, Travelling and God

Blessings of the Day: The Lord's eternal love and grace never fail to amaze me. Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that save a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now i see.
Somehow i lost the gift of blogging. Don't feel like writing don't feel like doing anything. I seem to switch from online writing to my own personal journal. I think the privacy of writing one's own words in a book is much more better than online. But I still like to record down my trip in Australia which is nearly a month ago. But instead of going day by day, I think I will jot down the significant events in the journey that has left a deep impression in my heart.

The Rocks

Chinatown

Pastor said he was going to beautify the pasta

Prawns in VSOP & homemade wonton

Joan: I Love Mashed Potatoes

We are at Hyde Park

Beautiful Blue Mountains

We had such a wonderful time of fellowship. Pastor and Janet were two very wonderful couple who took good care of us throughout the 4 days. Their warm hospitality helped me and Keegan got in settled very quickly. Every meal, whenever we said grace, we always thank God for the wonderful couple who had ministered deeply in our lives. Pastor took time and showed us his artworks that he had done in school. Every piece of art work he had painted, reflects strongly his passion and the love for Christ. We couldn't help but felt very touched and inspired. A few times, for some funny and weird thoughts, I would ask Keegan "Do you think we come at the wrong time and we shouldn't have disturb them?" Keegan would assured me that I was thinking too much and surely enough, Janet dropped me an email after we left by telling us that they were very happy to see us after so long. The most enjoyable time with the couple was every single meal we had together. We cooked and enjoyed one another company. Pastor was a fantastic tour guide and we were so amazed. Everywhere corner he turned, he rattled off non stop about the point we were at. We jokingly said he should apply to be a tour guide and he could bring people around. Without them, it was impossible to visit all highlights by ourselves. After 4 days of intensive travelling in and out of Sydney, I think Sydney wasn't that hard to explore after all.

Posing with our new Kola friend

Together in Blue Mountains

With the artist - that his painting behind us

When we travelled to Brisbane, I must admit I felt a little bit lost. I wished I had spend the whole week in Sydney instead to spend more time with Pastor and Janet. They had took so good care of us and suddenly we are on our own. Joan even shared with me "PY, i feel so stressed" "Why???" "I scared I am not a good host and a good tour guide!"

Joan with her best friend, Fish & Chips

We decided to enroll to Hogwarts School

But tata both Joan and I were so wrong. Firstly, I felt excited cos finally we could explore Brisbane on our own without driving around. Travelling using the public transport. In Sydney, we hardly had the chance as Pastor and Janet would drive us around. Joan on the other hand displayed a new her. She brought us around to the town to get our next few days groceries for breakfast and dinner. She brought us to her life group (aka to singapore cell group) and to town to eat fish and chips and to catch a movie. When we looked at her room - which was a garage by the way. I suddenly felt like hugging this sister in Christ of mine. Witnessing how she came to Australia on her own to study and live here, this was certainly not easy i thought. I began to ask her how did she feel when she first came here. She recalled "Shoot! This is for real. I am in Australia! Every night, I would cry myself to sleep. I missed home." It took her 6 months to really get to know her life group members well before she start to open up. I told her - "I admire you Joan. I can never do it if i come here to study" She had proved herself and had really grown up. Before she went to Australia for her studies, she was a very mature girl. Now she became even stronger and more mature. She learned to cook on her own, chores, get her own groceries, getting to know people in church and to study. Joan is a girl whom I had felt that she played quite an important role in my life. As a young christian back then, she was the first friend whom I get to know in Bethel. I thought she was same age as me, later i knew she was 4 years younger than me. Her constant encouragements always perks me up and encouraged to go on and not give up. Her faith with the Lord were always so strong and close. Joan i said was a woman of God. Needless to say, Pastor and Janet are also my good friends who had mentored me during the first few years of my christian walk. The trip hold many good memories with them.

Hot Thick Chocolate *yummy* too bad too full and we only manage half a cup

Our strawberries ice-cream

Through this trip, we got to know Nelson better too. He is also another one of the funny BB guy. This guy once said "Tell me all your secrets. Secrets are safe in Brisbane" Thank you for being such a wonderful friend who offered to drive us around and visit those places. Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast will be impossible without your help.

At the beatiful King Cross Beach

It was also my first trip with Keegan to such a far place. Many of my friends thought we were on honeymoon trip. Haha but of course not . Looking back, Keegan shared this with me: "I never expect to go such a far place with you. But it was really fun and enjoyable travelling with you." It was a very challenging time to plan the trip with Keegan. Working together to plan this was quite a test to our relationship. But I was glad we pulled it off.

Keegan & Me

God is great. Through this trip we learnt so many things about His word through the two different churches we attended over there. In Sydney church, we learned about not to be a snob. Whether you are rich or poor - we are all the same before the Lord. In Brisbane church, we learned about the funding your own ministry and in the season of waiting - which is between the season of sowing the seeds and season of reaping the harvest. These are all valuable lessons that we had brought back. We realized even when we moved from places to places, God's hands were with us and always teaching us new things everyday.

This had to be one my best trip i ever had. Friends, Fellowship, Fun and God.

Day 1 & 2 - Australia

Day 1 - Singapore - Australia, Sydney

We took a midnight flight. Exciting while lazing in Starbucks coffee den... our cg pop up from nowhere and gave a surprise send off :) Thanks folks you all are sweet... and in return we are getting honey for everyone. :)

Our flight was at 12.30am but we went in around 11.45pm or maybe early 12 midnight. After a funny send off, keegan and i went in to the customs and suddenly we were so lost. We didn't know what to do! Asking a nearby officer, how do we know which boarding gate are we supposed to go as our boarding pass did not state any number? She kindly showed us a TV screen right infront of us *we were so blind!* and we looked - SQ231 .. Boarding gate status: Last Call... HUH LAST CALL?! The officer just went "Oh dear.. u all better run... Gate 28 is pretty far! RUN!!!!"

WE RAN FOR OUR DEAR LIVES! WE WERE SO SCARED OUR PLANE FLYYYYYYYY without US.

After passing Boarding Gate 20... we looked up at the screen: WE GOT ANOTHER SCARE OF OUR LIVES!

GATE CLOSING!!!!

WHAT?! WE RANNNNNNN UNTIL Keegan got leg cramps and my face was as pale as a white SHEET!!!!

When we reached boarding gate 28, we were soooo relieved.. GOT A SUPER long queue right outside the gate! Wah bian.... then my hands were shivering and legs turned like jelly! Keegan and i didn't talk to each other for like the next 30 minutes- just to catch our breath and recovering from our shock.

Even after the queue and getting all clear, we sat there for at least a good 15 minutes before we board the plane. What an exciting start off...

(Lesson Learnt: Plane won't take off especially your luggage had been checked in... they'll wait for you at least 30 minutes... which it did happen as there 2 no-show passengers...)

Day 2 On the plane - over the great dessert of Australia and touching down...

Beautiful sunrise. Sleepless night but thankfully with Krisflyer entertainment. Breakfast were so so only but we were already counting down to touch down Sydney. We did our quiet time on the plane (eh special leh =) )and then the moment we touched down. We loved the weather! 15 degrees celsius! A beautiful blue winter morning. We can't believe we were finally here after 3 months of waiting since we first bought our air tickets. Everything seem almost like a dream! But wow we were finally here!!!

Janet picked us up from the airport and wow! She was 5 months pregnant! And we swing to the domestic airport and picked up future lawyer, JOAN! That was so exciting especially we had not seen them for almost more than half a year. First stop we head to Sydney Fish market and got our fresh sashimi. Oh, you know I never have the courage to eat raw food. But funny enough, when i loooked at the fresh salmon - it looked really really good. And that when i gave in (to temptation) and had my first piece. Now I officially declared - I like to eat raw salomon *fresh ones pls :D)

Next we also head to Pastor's workplace where we picked him up and went to his place to drop our bags. Then after late lunch, we went around with Pastor driving us introducing the streets of Australia.

Peaceful and Quiet on a saturday afternoon. That was when I noticed myself kept dozing off - tired. We head to Pastor Paul's school and we were suddenly wide awake! Because his school resembled the Hogwarts Castle! haha. That where we snapped lots of photos :)

Back home, Keegan konked out at 9pm and followed by me and joan around 11pm. No dreams that night - one word "tired"

Love Sydney!

Prelude #1 My (exciting) Thoughts

Blessings of the day: I finished one project... now awaiting for approval.. One and a half more weeks to go and I will clear another project. Goody I can't wait! :)

I am really looking forward to the trip at the end of this month! I can't wait to see Pastor Paul, Janet and Joan!

9 days trip = 5 days in Sydney + 4 days in Brisbane

I wish I have more money and time to visit Melbourne. Oh well, I can't complain - I should be thankful I get to travel out of Singapore!

This trip will serve many good memories and the reasons why we took this vacation:
1) The Lord provided and had grant us multiple blessings on our business. This vacation is our bonus for the Year 2006. *Thank you Father!*

2) Celebrating with Mommy Janet for her pregnancy & a scholarship awarded to Pastor Paul for his EXCELLENT results (all distinctions!) :) We are overjoyed we can share these great news with them! Plus we missed them!

Grace complained: "PY, why didn't you visit me when I was studying in Australia that time? Not fair... "

Me: "Eh, I didn't know you very well leh... plus i was a poor student... where got money to fly and visit you? Don't even know got money to buy air ticket anot!"

3) Although I don't know Grace very well then, BUT i know her sister, Joan very well! In fact she was my first friend whom I knew when I came to Bethel in 2000. Now she is in Brisbane, she missed Singapore...seeing me and Keegan will cure some of her homesickness... haha

4) We want to see Hillsongs Church in Sydney! Planet Shakers was one of our must-see in our travel list, unfortunately we won't be heading to Melbourne... *sob*

Travelling is a luxury for most of us. I have many countries on my list waiting for me to explore. But first must have S-11. Haha...

Officially I had travelled with my family to Malaysia, Thailand and Korea. The good thing about travelling with your family members - everything are paid and taken care of and you don't have to spend a single cent. Who say travelling with family members are terrible? Well except when we sign up tour group package it can be quite tedious and tiring!

With friends and on a shoestring budget, it will be more interesting! Back in Poly days, I had an opportunity to travel with 2 girls and her parents total 5 of us to Hong Kong and Thailand. I was still very inexperience thus my friend did all the planning and all I had to do was to pay up for the trip.

The next friends trip was an extension of the church camp 2 years back in KL. As I was the one who proposed, I did my research for the accomodations and the transport for the girls. (TH challenged me!) Frankly speaking, I was really stressed up. Because I had never been to KL before! Luckily I had 2 ex-colleagues who often travel up to KL. With some good tips, the hotel we booked was a great satisfaction and despite some glitches on the transport we still manage to reach home safely. It was a valuable experience and for awhile I thought I should change job to be a travelling planner. Haha.

Now this will be my third trip and also the first overseas trip with Keegan. Exciting! I really hope that trip will be enjoyable, fruitful, restful and safe one. As said, it is on a shoe-string budget, we will most likely be catching up with friends and talking aside from the usual sight-seeing. I hope we can enjoy the slower pace of life in Australia compared to SG for the 9 days. Thus stuffing our time table with the things to see is not really a must...

Shall armed with a pen, notebook and camera - I want to write my travel journals whenever I go! To write the first hand thoughts, feelings and experience. When I come back, I am going to produce a 9 Days diary... haha...

Bob!

Blessings of the day:
I give thanks for the beautiful creation - the work of God - awesome beautiful and amazing! Bob... the joy for our dearest friends Jeff and Huipeng!

Isn't he beautiful? Had a good time of fellowship with the cell group and the proud parents. Bob just looked so amazing. He didn't open his eyes but I can see he is a very strong and healthy baby! When he yawn ... he seem to use up all his strength to stretch himself and gosh the mouth looks so cute! He got 2 dimples too! For awhile we were puzzled and asked... how come Bob got the cute dimples? Mom replied and ya i was too puzzled too! Then the Bob's aunty (jeff's sis) replied... Jeff have what... didn't you all realize he got dimples? Oh he must been too fat... that why you all can't see!! hahaha that really funny.. and the proud daddy just didnt say anything and keep grinning from ear to ear! Mommy looks good and is enjoying Burger king fries on her bed.

I am so happy for them! May the Lord continue to grant them the joy to raise this child to be the man of God!

God is good isn't?

Dedication

This blog entry is dedicated to Pastor Paul and Janet. My dearest mentors.

Sob. I really missed P.Paul and Janet alot.

Seeing them walk through the departure gates. Tears just auto swell up in my eyes *WAIL*

The couple had been my (& keegan's) mentor when I was a 2 year old young christian.

It was in Year 2001 when I first saw Pastor Paul coming to Bethel. I still clearly remember he was a guest preacher. I can't exactly remember what sermon and what passage he was talking about. But what caught our attention was extremly long name - Pastor Paul Albert Tanchio

The whole service, never listen to what he was preaching, more on discussing with Kg.

"What country do you think he come from ar? SOOOO Strange leh his name. Paul ? Albert? Tanchio????? Wah So interesting! Maybe he is from Japan or Phillipines. Maybe some kind of exotic countries like Mexico or .. hmmm *giggle*"

Finally i think about 1 month plus, he was finally introduce in our church as the new youth pastor. Whoo! Sounds very exciting. Keegan and I was the only ones in youth cell then. Most of them weren't too interested every since the previous Pastor left. But being a new christian, i hunger deeply for God's word and look forward for cell group fellowship, i was excited to see a new Pastor. Keegan and I try hard to got everyone to come back. Pastor Paul was very quiet then. He told us he want to observe how the youths behave. We thought he was weird. Why this Pastor so quiet? Haha.

Slowly, he warmed up. I can also remember our very first bible study with the cell group was the book 1 Cor and 2 Cor. I loved his teachings. I learnt so much about that book. I still remember when he sit cross-legged on the floor. Then Keegan always push a old biscuit tin to Pastor Paul saying "Here, Pastor. Your "pulpit"!"

Years later we recount this. We laughed non stop.

Slowly the attendance in youth cell fall. Alot of them don't want to stay. I was sad and not motivated. But Keegan told me. I am tired. All my good friends are gone. I want to join them in another church. Then i say ok lor. You changed church also can. But you must tell Pastor Paul. I think is only fair you tell him and explain.

I cannot exactly remember the conversation with Pastor. We end up staying in Bethel again. Pastor Paul somehow convinced us. How? I not sure actually. But i glad we stayed. We did many bible studies. Our lesson was always on Thursday night and another one on Sunday afternoon. Janet started joining us. We got to know this couple better. They always share alot of their knowledge. We shared ours. I think then 18 or 19. Quite immature but somehow, they always shared and concern for us. They prayed for us. We are so thankful.

Not all the time is sweet. There are times of rebuke and scoldings from them too! There were a period of time, we hardly attended service. Finally Pastor and Janet rebuke us. But it was a gentle rebuke! I was extremely guilty!!!! I am glad that they did. Truly love and concern for your welfare, only brother and sister in Christ would teach you like this. Rebuking out of love.

For 2 years, We enjoyed great fellowships and prayers. Pastor Paul and Janet is really patient. (Can you imagine? We took 2 years to complete the bible study on Romans!) Whenever Keegan or myself are unhappy about our life like studies, family or anything. They always bring us out for a good meal. We felt so blessed and touched to have friends like them. They nv forget our birthdays. They love to sing and worship the Lord. They have a beautiful home and they always opened it up to us.

When we finally graduated from Poly, we moved from the youth cell to Judea cell. But despite that, we still keep close contact. Occassionally a drop by @ youth cell, meals fellowship.

At one time, I still remember very clearly it was in Year 2003. I hit the lowest period of my life. My family was almost breaking apart. Somehow i wonder what will happen to me. I asked God. Oh help me. Keegan just got enlisted in the army. No one was with me. I felt so down. And you know what? I didnt share anything with cell then. After saying a prayer, my phone rang. "Hi Peiying, how are you? Hows your new job and oh hows ur family? Keegan got enlisted already right? hahha"

I burst into tears. I can't believe it. Janet called. Immediately she asked if she can meet me up for coffee. I couldn't then cos i had already reached home. But she invited me to her house the very next day. I went and just poured my heart out to this couple. How sweet and how nice. They cooked a very nice heartwarming meal for me and prayed for me. Told me that everything is in God's hands and nothing will happen to me. They continued to pray for me.

Keegan have his own share of sharing about the love that Pastor and Janet shown to him. Do ask him. =)

These little acts of love and concern. God gave them to me. I really thank them.
